Dr William (Bill) Sands, General Practitioner

 

Dr Sands has worked as a GP in Fremantle since 1981, bringing more than 30 years of professional experience to the practice. Holding a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a diploma of child health and a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Sands is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Interested in all aspects of family medicine, Dr Sands has a particular passion for chronic complex disease management. He is also interested in developing local primary care and prefers not to refer patients for terminations.

 

 

 Dr Ann-Sofi Pokrant, General Practitioner

An experienced GP, Dr Pokrant’s special interests lie in women’s health and family medicine, and she’s skilled in inserting Mirena and Implanon contraceptive devices. Dr Pokrant has a long association with the Fremantle community and is also involved in undergraduate teaching at the medical centre. She also speaks Swedish.

 

 Dr Catherine Brooker, General Practitioner

Dr Brooker is an experienced GP and has extra Qualifications in women’s health and Paediatrics. She is skilled at inserting Mirena and Implanon contraceptive devices and has an interest in the health care of Aboriginal People and holds a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of GP’s.

 

 Dr Ian McWhirter, General Practitioner

A new GP to Canning Medical Centre, Dr McWhirter is interested in family medicine and child health. He has close links to the Fremantle community and is involved in medical education.

 

 Dr Tom Johnston, General Practitioner

Dr Tom Johnston grew up in Ballarat and completed his medical training in Germany, he has a keen interest in all aspects of general practice and specialises in Adolescent Mental Health, Chronic Pain Management and Travel Medicine.

Dr Johnston previously practiced in Canberra and is relocating to Fremantle to be closer to his family

   Dr Anita Calalesina, General Practitioner

 

She has skills in Chronic Disease, Aged Care, Women’s Health, Paediatrics and all aspects of Family Medicine.  She has extra qualifications in Travel Medicine and Tropical Diseases and  holds a fellowship with Royal Australian College of GP’s.

Dr Calalesina is available Monday to Thursday. She also speaks Italian.

   Dr Jenny Donnelly, General Practitioner

 

 

 Dr Samantha Maisey, General Practitioner

Dr Maisey holds a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is interested in all aspects of general practice medicine.
