Fees and billing arrangements
Please note that as of July 2023, Canning Medical Centre will be making changes to it’s billing structure:
- Student cards will no longer receive a discount
- Children 12 and under will be bulk billed Monday-Friday.
- Children over 12, as of 13 years of age, will be privately billed
- Pensioners and health care card holders will no longer be bulk billed, but will receive a discount Monday-Friday.
- Standard consult – $68 with a $41.40 rebate with Medicare ($26.60 out of pocket)
- Long consult – $110 with a $80.10 rebate with Medicare ($29.90 out of pocket)
- All scripts request’s without an appointment will result in a fee of $20
Please be advised that these new billings may be varied or changed at your doctor’s discretion.

A Gap Fee is charged for all procedures and dressings for all patients
Dressing: $30 | Procedure: $50
GST
Most medical services are GST-free. However, the following services will incur a 10% GST fee:
- Medical reports
- Certain medical examinations (e.g. for driving/life insurance)
- Certificates (if no medical treatment is provided)
- Services acting as an expert witness (e.g. signing passport forms)
